  • What’s your stress level like?  Whether it be from a job, family, or financial, we all experience stress.  Whatever it is, when it all comes at once, it can be hard to manage.  The more stress we have, the less we are able to sleep.

Obviously, if you are overworked or have a lot of stress, you need to get over that hurdle.  When this happens to us, we often don’t eat well and that makes our health suffer.  It could even mean that your periods are getting worse because your diet isn’t what it should be.  One of the signs is low energy.

Eating a well-balanced diet is so important and one of the key vitamins you should make sure you are getting enough of are the B vitamins – specifically B1.  According to this Harvard nutritionist, eating B vitamins can keep your brain and body healthy.  All the B vitamins are beneficial to our health but B1 will help with your energy.  Eating lots of beans and lentils can do just that, according to Dr. Uma Naidoo.

B vitamins are awesome

While B1 is great, there are other B vitamins that can really help you feel great.  If you suffer from heavy periods or any other menstrual issues, you will want to make sure you are getting enough of these great vitamins.  Let’s go through them:

  • B1, 2, and 3 – as mentioned B1 can help with energy.  B3 can help with inflammation.  In fact, B vitamins 1-3 can help with PMS issues.  Who doesn’t want that?  Eat beans or salmon.
  • B5 – do you have low progesterone?  Eat foods high in B5 (they can even help your brain).  I love black beans and hummus!
  • B6 and B9- feeling moody?  Try some leafy greens.  You may have high estrogen.
  • B12 – will keep you on top of your game!

So, try this easy fix for low energy.  You don’t have to spend a ton of money once you know what is causing your problems.
