Uncrustable Skin

If your skin is looking dull or if you have any kind of skin condition, you may have uncrustable skin.  See how life / some foods contributed to it.

The foods we eat

We live in a time where convenience is key.  There is no time to plan meals, no time to grocery shop, and no time to cook our meals.  We live in a society that is constantly moving.  Our jobs are demanding and we need to go, go, go.  If you’re lucky enough to have a full time job, good for you.  It’s wonderful that we can have jobs that fulfill our needs and wants.  Not only do we have enough money to have a roof over our heads but we also have money to buy food, go out, go on vacation, and just generally enjoy ourselves.

In this regard, we are very lucky for all of this.  As we go through life trying to just make it, we sometimes find ourselves overwhelmed.  We get overwhelmed because we have an idea of what is needed to be happy and we are always chasing it.

I have a friend who wants to be a corporate executive.  She’s a smart woman.  She is married and has a few children.  Her only problem is she thinks she can be 100% to everything:

  • Her job
  • Her spouse
  • Her kids
  • Their home
  • Her friends
  • Her other family

Sadly, 100% of all of these is not possible – not without help.  If you are lucky enough to have family that can help with kids or even things around the house, that’s great.  If your spouse can bear the load of what you aren’t able to, awesome.  But, will he resent you for it?

I’ve worked in a hospital setting for a time and heard how all the nurses eat a product called UnCrustables.  While I totally appreciate a company that can make a product that is convenient for their market, I also know that people (i.e. these nurses) eat this product all the time.  That’s not so good.

Uncrustable Skin – my Opinion

It’s all this go, go, go, that makes us short on time and energy so we look for conveniences that can help make life easier.  This is why we eat convenience foods.  Foods that are prepackaged are so easy.  Just take it out of the freezer, pop it in the microwave, and within a couple minutes, you are eating a ‘meal’.  You soon start to notice that your skin doesn’t look so good and you generally don’t feel well.  You assume it’s the stress of life (which it is) but it is also the foods you are eating.  Welcome:  Uncrustable Skin!

What is uncrustable skin?  Skin that looks dull, generally unhealthy, and maybe has some acne or dryness.  Truly, it can be anything.  If you feed your body (and your skin) with unhealthy food, it will show up on the outside.  And, it shows up in so many different ways – it’s actually different for everyone.  Maybe your skin looks dull.  Or, maybe you have very sensitive skin with red blotches here and there.  It all has to do with inflammation.  So, the next time you go to pick up that ‘Un-crustable’ ‘food’, think twice.  I’d actually rather you make your own.

With processed food, you are ingesting partially hydrogenated oils – these all do damage to our bodies, including our skin.  If you don’t want uncrustable skin, stop eating processed foods.  Instead, start eating more whole foods like fruits and vegetables.  The effect it will have on your skin will be transformative.
