Airbrush Tanning

What exactly do you know about airbrush tanning? Most people know it’s a type of spray tan mist that’s better than traditional sun tanning, but to help you understand a bit better, airbrush tanning uses an air compressor and air brush to spray a fine-mist tanning solution onto your body.

The airbrush tanning equipment, combined with a solution, delivers a spray tan that takes about 10 minutes to apply. The actual tan itself, however, can take up to 12 hours to fully develop its rich bronzed coloring. A spray tan usually lasts from seven to 10 days for most people, depending on skin type and maintenance that you do before and after your tan. You can keep your tan looking fabulous with specialty moisturizing lotion that should be applied twice a day starting the day after your spray tan.  Plus, you should always exfoliate before you get your spray tan because this helps remove any loose dead skin cells that will make your spray tan flake off if you don’t remove them before hand.  For more information on the benefits of exfoliation, check out our Frequently Asked Questions page.  You’ll learn how often you should exfoliate as well as the benefits.  Exfoliation has many great benefits and doing it before a spray tan can really help it to last longer – you’re paying good money for a spray tan…you may as well have it last as long as possible!

Airbrush tanning is a better alternative than regular sun tanning and it’s definitely something you should consider if you feel the need to have a “sun kissed” tan.  You don’t get the harmful effects of the UV sun rays.  Because of the cancer risks of sun tanning, it’s a great alternative.
