Recently, I had to take a family member to the hospital emergency room (unrelated to the COVID pandemic).  Within about 2 months, we had to visit the ER twice.  My family member was taken to 2 different hospitals and the first visit was vastly different than the second.  At the initial ER, the entire staff was AMAZING!  I could tell that the nurses really did care for their patients.  Our nurse was very patient with us and they treated us with respect.  Sadly, the second visit, which happened at a different hospital about a month later was different.  The nurse there couldn’t be bothered.  She told me that she was multi-tasking because that was her job.  I was appalled at her lack of professionalism.  Thankfully, her shift was ending and other staff were assigned to us.  They were much more professional and caring than the original nurse.

It was from this experience that I wanted to offer my appreciation to all the nurses who truly care for their patients.  I realize this is a difficult time for them.  This is the only way I can pay if forward to the nurses who are on their feet for a long time.
