Make your Mom happy
Mother’s Day is coming soon so it’s time to start thinking of ways to celebrate Mom! Make your Mom happy with these suggestions!
Mom / Mother / Mamma
What do you call your Mom? Is it Mom, Mum, Mother, Mama, or Mommy? Likely, it has changed as you got older. As a child, I’d call my Mom, ‘Mommy’. When I got older, it turned into ‘Mom’. But, every now and again, I find myself calling my precious Mother, ‘Mommy’ because I love her so much. I don’t want to lose the innocence I had as a child with her. No matter what you call your mother, she should be celebrated. We have that opportunity to make your Mom happy every year…on Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day 2023 is Sunday, May 14. This day is right up there when it comes to buying plants and flowers – coming in at #3. Why? It’s because Mom’s love flowers and plants. A nice planter looks great and can generally be replanted into a pot to keep for years. Flowers are beautiful and many ladies love a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Brunch is also a huge thing for Mother’s Day because it’s Moms’ day to not have to cook – let someone else do it. Some people choose to go to a restaurant. I’ve made my Mom brunch before while she sits and enjoys her coffee. But, there are other ways you can make your Mom happy. Here are just a few suggestions:
Make Mom Happy
Here are my other top ways to bring joy and happiness to my Mom:

- Cook with her – my Mom always cooked. She’s a great cook and has always been the one that hosted Holiday parties and other celebrations. I love her food but now that she’s getting older, it’s a lot for her and while she does still like to host holidays, I have been coming over to help her with the cooking. The good thing is that it doesn’t even have to be for a Holiday – I just enjoy learning her recipes. What’s funny is that the recipe keeps changing on me. I never seem to get the same recipe each time.
- Bake with her – I put this one separate from the cooking because I have always been the baker in the family. In recent years, I’ve been asking my Mom to help me with certain baked goods – not because I need the help but because I enjoy her helping. And, by helping, I mean, she sits around and maybe adds some flour. It’s so cute because I really do most of the work and I don’t mind it. We laugh and have a great time!
- Take her shopping – If your Mom is a shopper but doesn’t do it very often, go out on a Saturday and just shop. It’s a great way to relax and enjoy Mom.
Want to make it extra special?
- Book a massage or a pedicure – I’ve done this several times for my Mom. It’s never something she would do for herself so I make a day of it and book a massage and lunch out somewhere. Pamper her in any way you can. Maybe even get her a Nutt So Ruff Foot scrub bar.
- Take her on vacation – The last time we went on vacation, Mom went. She was so happy. We went to South Carolina and she loved the ocean. I never saw her having so much fun in the water!
- Hug your Mom! Love her and just be with her!
Gratefulness
No matter what, you should always feel thankful for what you have in your life. Don’t take things for granted because you never know when it will be gone. Hugs! Make your Mom happy today!
