Chin pimples are generally a sign that your hormones are changing and it’s about time for your menstrual cycle.  Yep, it’s true.  If you start to pay attention to when you start getting your chin acne, it’s usually about a week before your period starts.  That’s what I mean about being annoying.  So, is there anything you can do about it?

What to do about chin acne

Just like with any other blemish, you have to take care of your skin.  The last thing you want to do is pick and squeeze your pimples.  It will only cause more damage.  The best thing to do instead is to do the following:

  1.  Make sure you keep your face clean.  Wash with a gentle cleanser no more than twice a day.
  2. According to medicalnewstoday.com, they suggest using an ice pack on the blemish to reduce inflammation.  I generally notice the first day the pimple shows up, it tends to look like a big bump on my chin and I mean a BIG bump.  Using a cold pack does help the inflammation so I do agree with this.
  3. I then use a benzoyl peroxide (on the spot) treatment.  I will usually put this on in the morning and then again at night.  Just be mindful that if it comes into contact with your clothing, it can bleach it.
  4. During this time, it’s a good idea to make sure you drink plenty of clean water and eat healthy foods.  Of course, we should be doing this all the time but I know that doesn’t always happen.

So, there you have it.  This is why you have chin pimples once a month but now you know what you can do about it.  It’s frustrating but you can manage it.  I promise.
