Even Whales Have to Exfoliate
Think you don’t need to exfoliate? Even whales have to exfoliate. It’s not only good for your skin but it will also look and feel better. Here’s why.
Even whales have to exfoliate
Whales like to exfoliate. Did you know that beluga whales exfoliate themselves? Yes, you read that right – even whales have to exfoliate. Just like people, these mammals need to shed their old skin. Sure, it’s a natural process that happens on its own but unfortunately, our bodies need some help – especially as we age. Our skin needs a little extra help to remove those dead skin cells so that the fresh skin underneath can breath. This provides us and whales with the smooth skin we are all looking for.

This is part of the beluga whale beauty routine. And, if they have a beauty routine, then you should too. It’s like a day spa for whales. Watch these whales exfoliate and see how much fun they are having:

It’s amazing to watch the rubbing behavior of belugas.
The purpose of exfoliating
When we mammals (humans and beluga whales) exfoliate, we are shedding that dead layer of skin which allows the fresh skin underneath to be shown through. This not only helps your complexion but it also helps keep your skin healthy.

With oily skin, you help remove those dead skin cells that get stuck in pores. Those clogged pores can turn into acne. With dry skin, those same dead skin cells still get stuck but this time in those crevices. Those crevices we call fine lines and wrinkles make us look older and our skin tends to look dull. So, if you think you don’t need to exfoliate, think again. And, even if you are lucky enough to have skin that isn’t oily or dry, it still helps to remove dead skin.
Just think about the thick dead skin on the bottoms of your feet.
