Detox with Celery
Celery is great for so many benefits, especially to detox with celery. If you’re looking for a way to detox easily, here’s why you should try celery.
Benefits of celery
Celery isn’t one of those vegetables that everyone likes. It has a sharp flavor and at the same time, doesn’t have any taste. At least that’s what I always thought. But, once I learned about all the benefits of celery and how you can actually detox with celery, I started to give my aversion a second thought. Here are some of the benefits you might want to consider.
First and foremost, your skin and your hair will look amazing if you eat celery. With all the vitamins and minerals celery contains, you will love the way your skin and hair look.

Next, if you’re dealing with bloating issues and looking for ways to heal inflammation in the body, consider eating celery. Eating to reduce inflammation is an easy way to help heal your body. That alone will help your energy levels as well.

Another huge benefit of celery is it will help your blood sugar levels – which means that you won’t feel like eating all the time. It also means that you won’t be grabbing all the junk food. Think about it, when our blood sugar dips, we tend to go for the sugary snacks. It happens because our blood sugar is low and we need something to bring it up; otherwise, we feel like crap. The problem is we continue to feel like crap. Detoxing with celery juice may be your answer.

How to detox with celery
So, you may be wondering what is the best way to detox with celery? For me, the easiest way is to juice it – this is especially if you don’t really like the taste of celery and are trying to get used to it. This way, you can add an apple to your celery juice. Of course, you don’t want to add so much sugar (even if it’s in the form of natural sugars) because it will negate what you’re trying to do. But, it is a good way to start. Plus, when you juice, all the vitamins and minerals get absorbed quickly. Win win!

Next, eat it fresh and raw. This may not be your favorite way but I actually can eat some celery sticks raw. And, I’ve read that it’s almost like taking in negative calories because it takes so much for you to chew and your body to digest celery. Really – you might want to try it.
Other reasons to consume celery
Celery is loaded with antioxidants and we know that antioxidants help get rid of free radicals. These toxins can hurt you because they cause problems with healthy cells which means we can look older and become sick. Even though our bodies are able to fight some free radicals, when the body is overloaded, it’s too much. Eating foods high in antioxidants can help your body more effectively fight these toxins.
Antioxidants and vitamins / minerals in celery
Celery contains the following:
- Vitamins A, C, and E
- Selenium (huge benefits for women)
- Lutein – great for eye health
- Calcium
- Potassium
- Manganese
Vitamin A is a great one because it can help your skin and I’m all about making skin look great. Tip: since Vitamin A is water soluble, you should eat it with some healthy fat – be it some nuts or even avocado.
So, there you go! If that doesn’t give you enough reasons to start adding celery to your diet, I don’t know what will. Starting to detox with celery will make your skin look amazing and you’ll feel great too.
