I’ve been juicing on and off for several years now.  I go in spurts where I juice my fruits and veggies everyday vs. every so often.  I really do love the taste of freshly juiced juice.  It just tastes healthy and delicious – a far cry from juice you buy at the store.

Lately, I’ve been into the celery juice craze.  But let’s be honest – juicing takes a little bit of time, preparation and clean up.  It’s normal to wonder if you can make a pitcher of juice to leave in the fridge to drink all week.  But, if you’ve ever wondered how long celery juice can last in the fridge, you’re not alone.

So, how long does celery juice last?  Well, as with all juiced vegetables or fruit, it really doesn’t last long.  Left on the counter, 2-4 hours at the most.  This is due to the oxidation so it’s best to drink right away.

Celery is very healthy for you, especially because of the fiber content so I would definitely recommend eating or drinking celery.  It has only about 17 calories in 1 cup raw celery.  That’s amazing.   And, with the number of calories you use up just to chew raw celery, it would seem like a huge benefit to consume in your diet.

But as far as how long does fresh celery juice last?  We saw it could be from 2-24 hours.  That’s a wide range, depending on how it is stored.  The thing is, as with any freshly juiced juice, it is best to drink your juice as soon as you juice it because a lot of the nutrients start to wane just minutes after juicing.

There is good news, though.  An alternative, if you don’t have fresh celery on hand or your celery seems to go bad before you can juice it, is you may want to try some celery juice powder.  The benefit of this is that you can put this in a smoothie with other fruits and vegetables for some added vitamins.
