What is smart skin care anyway?  We live in a society where beauty can be everything…and, who doesn’t want to be beautiful.  It’s true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but we do want to feel beautiful.  If we don’t feel good about ourselves, there will be more of a tendency to feel depressed and not to live life to its fullest.  That’s not what we want.  The difficulty is some of us struggle with skin care and it doesn’t have to be that hard.  That’s where smart skin care comes in.

Our skin care routine is the only thing we should be focusing on when it comes to beautiful skin.  Much of how we look and feel are determined by what we eat.  We all know that we should eat a healthy, well-balanced diet but an added layer of that is the quality of foods we eat.

Eating fresh and in some cases, organic, is the best choice.  Granted, we can’t always eat organic or fresh.  Some people don’t even have that luxury.  The more we do, though, the more we have a chance to have healthy skin, a healthy mind, and a healthy body.  According to the Environmental Working Group, who publish the Dirty Dozen list every year, the toxins in our foods can make us sick.  In fact, they have a list of 12 chemicals found in foods that you should avoid.

All of these chemicals would be found in foods that are processed.  Ultra-processed foods can even hurt our brains, according to CNN.com.  So, while we love our hot dogs and chips, these foods can cause long-term effects on our health and well-being if we eat them on a regular basis.

These chemicals can lead a whole host of problems, including adult acne, fibroids, and anxiety.  When we eat ultra-processed foods, it can lead to endocrine disruption.  Eating foods that are organic (when possible) and non-GMO can help you have the clear skin you are looking for.
