Vitamin A:

Vitamin A is very important for healthy skin.  It helps cells replace themselves which is very important for skin.  And, it helps with oil production.  You actually need some oil production to help your skin.  You don’t want your skin too dry.

Vitamin B Complex:

A Vitamin B Complex includes Vitamin B3 (Niacin), B5 (Pantothenic Acid), and B6 (Pyridoxine).  This combo helps our bodies to work the way they are supposed to.  We have more energy and it helps our hormones stay balanced.  Plus, the B3 Niacin helps with inflammatory skin so if you are dealing with acne, this is something you’ll want to include.  Pantothenic Acid is beneficial for metabolizing fat while Pyridoxine is said to be good for those of us suffering from premenstrual acne (the acne we get before our periods).

Vitamins C & E:

These vitamins help with redness from acne.  If you’ve ever dealt with blemishes, you know the redness that comes with it.  Also, Vitamin’s C & E help another vitamin (namely, Vitamin A) do what it needs to do.  Gotta love the teamwork!

Selenium:

Selenium helps your body use Vitamin E and it also helps with redness from acne.  Did you know that you could be deficient in this mineral.  Yep, if you have acne, it could be because you aren’t getting enough selenium.  If you want to eat more in your diet, try broccoli, brown rice or tuna.

Zinc:

We talked about zinc yesterday.  This helps to build collagen and also is beneficial for testosterone control.
