Drinking the right Almond Milk for Anti-aging
Almonds have tons of nutrients that are great for wrinkles and fine lines but are you drinking the right almond milk for anti-aging?
Almond benefits
There are a ton of benefits to consuming almonds. Some of the best when it comes to anti-aging are all the antioxidants, vitamin E, and magnesium they contain. If you are worried about fine lines and wrinkles or you suffer from migraines, almonds are for you! But, what about almond milk? It would make sense that drinking almonds, as in almond milk, would give you the same wonderful anti-aging benefits. But, you have to be drinking the right almond milk for anti-aging.

Almond milk benefits
It is true that you will get much of the same benefits in drinking almond milk that you would by eating almonds. According to medicinenet.com, some of the biggest benefits of almond milk are:
- There is no dairy in almond milk because it comes from a plant – not a cow.
- Minimal calories and sugar
- Lots of vitamin E
This means it can keep you healthy and is great for your skin. Unfortunately, though, there are lots of different almond milks on the market and they are not created equal. This is why drinking the right almond milk for anti-aging is so important. What do I mean by this?

Next time you are at the grocery store, look at the number of almond milk brands available. There are probably several but even if your store only stocks 2 or 3, take a look at the amount of ingredients in each of those. You may be surprised. Let’s take one very well-known almond milk producer. I won’t mention the brand but these are the ingredients:

- Almond milk – which is just water and almonds
- Honey
- Cane Sugar
- Calcium carbonate
- Natural flavors
- Sea salt
- Potassium citrate
- Sunflower Lecithin
- Gellan gum
- Vitamin A Palmitate
- Vitamin D2
- Vitamin E (basically, they are adding in vitamin E)
What does all this mean? If you look at the label that includes the nutritional information, you will notice that there is barely any protein in most commercial almond milks. This is because they add so much other stuff in there. They need to do this to make it last longer. There is only 1 gram of protein in 1 cup of almond milk – compared to 6 grams in 1 ounce of almonds!

Are you starting to see why you might not be drinking the right almond milk for anti-aging? You’re not getting the amount of almonds and therefore the vitamin E, antioxidants, or magnesium you think you’re getting when you’re drinking commercial almond milk.
The basics of almond milk
Almond milk is simple. It is made by using filtered water and almonds. The good news is you can easily make your own almond milk. It just takes the right ingredients and a food processor / blender. Once you make it one time, you’ll see how easy it is and then you’ll know what is actually in your almond milk – ingredients that include more vitamin E and less additives. You know that you’ll be drinking the right almond milk for anti-aging and you’ll look and feel good about it! Your skin will thank you!
