How many almonds are in almond milk

Do you love almond milk?  How many almonds are in almond milk?  Almond milk is delicious but is it worth buying?  Let’s see…

I love Almonds

Almonds are so delicious and they are good for you.  The benefits of almonds include all the nutrients that can help with anti-aging and even migraines.  If you’re low on iron, almonds can help increase your iron intake, so they are especially good for women who tend to be low in iron.  And, when it comes to your skin, the vitamin E in almonds can help your skin look it’s best.  Eat them, use them topically, or in your skin care regimen, almonds are a true love for me.

But, how many almonds are in almond milk?

I started to buy almond milk a few years ago because I thought it was better for you than regular cow’s milk.  The funny thing was I noticed that there was hardly any protein in it.  Almonds on their own contain 6 grams in 1 ounce.  That’s not bad.  In contrast, almond milk contains 1 gram in 1 Cup!!!  You would need 6 cups of almond milk to get the same amount of protein that you would in just 1 ounce of almonds!  Wow!  There’s more water in almond milk than almonds!  So, if you’re using almond milk, you may not be getting all the skin nourishing benefits that you thought you were!

Other ingredients

Do you read the labels of the foods you purchase?  If not, you should.  Just like I believe you should read ingredients of all skin care products, I also believe you should pay attention to the ingredients you are eating.  This includes almond milk.  Many brands of almond milk contain ingredients you don’t want to eat (or shouldn’t want to).  These ingredients include flavors, thickeners, and stabilizers – according to this rebootwithjoe article.

Alternatives

Now that you know how many almonds are in almond milk, you might consider making your own so that you can get all the skin benefits.
