Nutt So Ruff explains the link between sugar and wrinkles

Link between sugar and wrinkles

We all know that sugar isn’t good for us, especially for our weight.  But, can it also contribute to wrinkles?  Is there really a link between sugar and wrinkles?  Let’s find out.

Inflammation

I was surprised to find out that it does.  Inflammation is caused by sugar and the more sugar you consume, the more you will have inflammation.  That inflammation produces enzymes that make the collagen and elastin in your skin deteriorate.  And, this can make skin conditions like acne worse and can contribute to wrinkles.

Types of sugar

The types of sugar you consume are also a factor.  Of course, processed sugar is worse than natural sugars (i.e. from fruits).  Everything should be in moderation.  I’m not saying don’t enjoy a treat now and again but if you continually eat processed foods, which are laden in sugar, this is not a good habit to fall into.

Food labels

Pay attention to food labels and you may actually start to see less wrinkles and acne; plus, you’ll feel better overall.

Already dealing with wrinkles?

As we age, wrinkles are inevitable.  Our skin loses collagen and we do eventually have to deal with wrinkles.  Here’s a product you may want to try to help reduce the appearance of existing wrinkles.  Even though there may be a link between sugar and wrinkles, we need something to help the damage already done.
