It’s National Green Juice Day!  Every year, on January 26th, we celebrate this day – a day to eat healthy and drink some green juice!

So, what is all this hub bub about green juice?  It’s all about being healthy and what’s more healthy than drinking your greens.  We all know we could use a lot more fruits and veggies in our diet – well, probably more veggies than fruit, but still.  And, today is just the day to do that.  Plus, here’s more information on National Green Juice Day.

 

Ways to celebrate Green Juice Day

Obviously, the way to celebrate this day is by drinking green juice.  So, what kinds of fruit and vegetables are green?   Here are some to choose from:

  • Kiwi
  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Avocado
  • Artichokes
  • Asparagus
  • Green apples
  • Cucumber
  • Pickles
  • Limes
  • Herbs, such as cilantro, parsley, mint and rosemary

These are just a few but there are so many others.  And, it doesn’t have to be a juice of just one fruit or vegetable.  You can mix with apples or bananas to give some sweetness.  If you want an extra shot of green, try mixing it with some spirulina or chlorella powder for some added nutrients.

Reasons to celebrate National Green Juice Day

Not only will eating green (i.e. eating better) help you be healthier but it can help your skin and your hormones.  I’m always talking about how to get clearer skin and how it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money to do.  Eating green can help your skin detox, which will help clear your skin.  The less money you have to spend on all the ‘skin care solutions’, the better off you’ll be and the cheaper it will be.
