Your toxic colon

Are you worried that your toxic colon is making you sick?  If you don’t poop regularly, your colon could be the problem.  It’s time to poop!

Your toxic colon

We don’t think about our digestive tract very often, if at all.  I mean, who likes to think of our insides – especially the ones that form our poop?  No one I know!  But, if you are feeling sluggish, bloated, or generally unwell, your toxic colon could be to blame.

Leaky gut

Knowing our bodies is very important so that we can recognize any signs or red flags.  When we can see these red flags early enough, we can take steps to do something about it.  Unfortunately, the United States health system doesn’t focus on preventative medicine.  I’m not a doctor but I do believe that if we eat healthfully and take care of ourselves, we do have a better chance of staying healthy.  The more processed foods or junk that you eat isn’t going to be good fuel for your body.  Garbage in, garbage out!

This is where leaky gut can be an issue.  If you have symptoms such as constipation, gas or bloating, or even having to use the bathroom right after eating, you may have a leaky gut.  Stress is a huge contributor – especially chronic stress.  If you’re constantly on high alert either because you’re in an abusive relationship or a boss who is always ‘on’ you, this is unhealthy.  We think that we can manage it and we also think that the symptoms that we are feeling (i.e. the constipation, etc.), are unrelated.  They’re not.

The problem with having a leaky gut is that our guts actually leak – spilling those toxins into our bloodstream and making us feel unwell – in whatever fashion.  You may start realizing that your toxic colon is starting to show signs of liver problems.

Signs of liver problems

Those pooping problems can turn into something more.  For example, do you show any of these symptoms regularly:

  • Headaches – this was a big one for me.  I was constantly getting headaches.
  • Skin issues like acne
  • Inability to focus
  • Abdominal fat you can’t seem to get rid of
  • Hard time dealing with stress
  • Inability to sleep (insomnia)
  • Mood swings

These symptoms are trying to tell us something isn’t right and if we don’t do something about it, we can end up having more problems, including hormonal issues like fibroids or heavy bleeding.  It’s important to support your gut healing.

Support gut health for your toxic colon

We know that hormonal issues are related to leaky gut.  If you’re dealing with feminine issues that cause you to stay at home because you’re too afraid you’ll have an ‘accident’, you need to do something.  This is no quality of life.  In fact, don’t let it get this far!  There is so much you can do to start living a healthier existence:

  • Drink plenty of water – this is an obvious one!
  • Start juicing – juicing is an excellent way to get some vitamins and minerals.  The juices’ nutrients are absorbed faster than if you were to eat the vegetable.  Plus, the juicing might help you poop.  If you’re worried that you aren’t getting the fiber, don’t – you can save the pulp to use for soups!  No waste!
  • Eat more healthfully – eating raw foods, foods that contain probiotics, and foods that help with inflammation like ginger.

Poop regularly

If you’re not pooping regularly – which means at least once a day, your colon is toxic.  Of course, everyone is different and some people poop multiple times a day (and some not at all, which is the problem).  The better you take care of your body, the more you will remove that waste and it won’t get reabsorbed into your bloodstream.  Detox your body so you can poop regularly.
