Toxins that poison us

Toxins that poison us effect our bodies, from skin problems like acne to hormonal issues like very heavy periods.

What is a toxin?

A toxin is a poison – something that our bodies shouldn’t be exposed to.  It’s unhealthy for our bodies but these poisons are all around us.  This means that it’s hard to get away from.  Are all toxins poison, though?

Examples of toxins

Here is a list of poisons that you should be aware of – you may be surprised that some of these are classified as such, but they are:

  • Viruses
  • Air fresheners because they contain synthetic oils that are harmful
  • Mold
  • Gas
  • Car exhaust / fumes because this contains carbon monoxide, lead and other noxious substances.
  • Personal care products as many of these contain synthetic substances like perfumes and other fragrances, not to mention other endocrine disruptors that are found in skin care.
  • Laundry detergent – yes, these have endocrine disruptors too.  And, don’t forget dryer sheets are toxic too.
  • Heavy metals
  • Inorganic foods
  • Medications, OTC or Rx – such as antibiotics.
  • Plastics
  • Pesticides

While this list of poisons is not exhaustive, the items here are very problematic but they are all around us.  I could give you a ‘Poisons A to Z’ but it’s not even necessary.  All you need to know is that toxins are everywhere and what to do about toxins that poison us.

What is the worst poison?

The worst poison is not knowing about them.  If you aren’t aware of them, you’ll continue to consume them and take them into your body, without trying to avoid or eliminate them.  This causes toxic overload and can cause numerous health issues including fibroids, infections, and even auto-immune diseases.   Knowledge is power, though – because now you can take steps to stay away from toxins (i.e. eating organic as much as possible and not using synthetic perfumes in or around your body, such as from chemical cleaning supplies).

Stay healthy

From our list of toxins, there are a few things you can start doing right away to lessen your exposure:

  1. Wash your hands and don’t touch your face, eyes, nose or mouth.  Keep viruses out of your body as much as possible with good hygiene.
  2. Stop using synthetic chemicals in your house.  No more air fresheners.  Get fresh air into your home instead!
  3. Keep areas that are prone to dampness, dry so that mold doesn’t form.
  4. Wear respirators if you’ll be exposed to car exhaust / gasoline for long periods of time.
  5. Start using organic personal care products and laundry detergents.  In fact, you can make your own dryer sheets.
  6. Eat organic.
  7. Stop using plastic.
  8. Opt for organic gardening – stop using pesticides.

Stop the effects from Toxins that poison us!  Stay healthy by staying away from toxins that poison us – in any form!
