3 Ways to get your skin ready for Spring

Anxious for warmer weather so you can rock that bikini?  Here are 3 ways to get your skin ready for spring so that you look amazing and feel great…

Spring is almost here

The weather is starting to get a bit warmer.  That cold chill seems to be fading.  Sure, there is still snow and cold in the forecast and as I write this, it is rarely a distant memory that we’ve been hearing about the nor’easter…the one that hit the Northeast.

For me, as February hits, I am itching to get outside, not only to clean up the yard from the winter but also to go out and walk.  I’m not one to enjoy the cold or the snow and ice.  I basically hibernate.  I’ve never liked it and I choose to stay inside.  Luckily, I don’t sleep my way through winter.  I do still work out by getting my steps in on the treadmill and I do loads of other hobbies during the long winter months in Ohio.  See my recommendations on hobbies for depression – lift your spirits by doing something that gets you into the flow of it.

Spring is almost here…I can feel it and here are 3 ways to get your skin ready for Spring.

3 Ways to get your skin ready for Spring

If you’re like me and would rather stay inside during the winter, now you need some TLC for your skin so you are ready to get out there again.  So, here are 3 ways to get your skin ready for spring!

  1. Hydrating – I can’t stress this enough.  Not only do you need to be drinking enough water throughout the day but you need to moisturize.  Being inside in the warm comforts of our heated homes, the air gets dry and so does our skin.  You should always replenish by drinking at least eight 8 oz. glasses of water each day – preferably more.  In addition, moisturize.  For those of you who have oily skin, it won’t hurt you to use carrot seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, broccoli seed oil, or glycerin.
  2. Exfoliate – exfoliating is one of the best things you can do for your skin.  It removes those dead skin cells that have been sitting there causing you all kinds of skin problems.  Whether you suffer from acne or dry skin, exfoliating can help.  Learn how to exfoliate properly so that you get all the benefits.  And, if you have thick dead skin on your feet, guess what?  Exfoliate.
  3. Move – yes, start getting out there.  Whether you go for a walk in the woods or you start working on your yard.  Move, do something.  It can really help to lift spirits, if you’re feeling down.  Plus, it gets us excited about the warmer weather.  Start planning your garden or your flower beds.  Go for a walk around the neighborhood.  Do it, you’ll feel so much better – but remember to wear your sunscreen.
