PMS Acne
It’s almost that time of the month and then the acne comes. PMS acne – what can you do about it? I’ll share my tips with you.
Being a Woman
We women have it tough. Don’t get me wrong, I celebrate all women because we are smart, powerful, strong and can do anything. We do have to manage some hurdles along the way. We have to deal with menstrual cycles and all the things that come with it like:
- Moodiness / irritability
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Depression
- PMS
- Monthly cycles – or if you’re premenopausal, irregular cycles
- Acne – which includes PMS Acne
None of this is fun but is there anything you can do about PMS Acne?

PMS Acne
Believe it or not, there is something you can do about PMS Acne. You may not like the answer but if you want to minimize acne breakouts before your period, keep reading.

First, do you recognize when it’s about one week to your period? If not, start paying attention. Better yet, get a period tracker which will be able to tell you what day of our cycle you are. You’ll be glad you did because it can help you make better decisions.

Next, once you realize it’s about 1 week before your period, here’s what you do.
- Start drinking enough water – if you’re already drinking enough water, great. But, if not, start! You need to flush out toxins and there’s no better way than to drink plenty of clean water.
- Stop eating chocolate – I know, I know – it’s all we want when we’re starting to PMS. Carbs, sugar, more carbs and more sugar. But, this just makes it worse. Give it up for that week.
- Have some herbal tea – in place of that alcoholic beverage.
- Go for a walk or do some other exercise.
It can be hard do these things, especially when it’s so much easier to not exercise and to just grab a iced coffee on the way home but it can make a world of difference.
Celebrating Women
Being a woman can be tough but knowing what your body needs can help you to manage the tough parts better. Celebrate being a woman and take care of yourself.
