Listen closer to your body

Skin issues?  Hormone issues?  Being able to listen to what your body is telling you is important for health.  But you actually need to listen closer to your body than that if we want to feel amazing.  Good news is that it is easy to do!

What are we listening for?

Aside from the other reasons you should takes cues from your body signals, if you are having issues with any of the following, it’s time to pay attention:

  • PMS
  • Bad menstrual cramps*
  • Extremely heavy periods – take my word for it, this isn’t normal!
  • Light periods – this isn’t normal either!
  • Two periods in one month
  • Spotting in between your cycle

We all think that PMS is normal and that every woman experiences it.  While most do, it doesn’t mean that this is the way it should be.  And the bad menstrual cramps or the heavy or even light periods?  That’s definitely not normal.

You may not be so concerned if you aren’t having very heavy periods, but you should be.  Our bodies were meant to menstruate.  I know it sucks because who wants to deal with that (and all that comes with it).  But just because our bodies were meant to do this, it doesn’t mean that we have to suffer as much as we have been.

If you are having very heavy bleeding, such as when you are using more than 20 regular tampons during your cycle, this is NOT normal.  And this is why you need to listen closer to your body.

Stop suffering

You may think it’s normal to have these symptoms and I’ll bet that the reason for it is your doctor brushed you off.  That is exactly what my doctor did to me.  I started having very heavy periods, was diagnosed with fibroids, and was sent away thinking that was a normal part of aging.  It’s not!  After realizing that my symptoms could be the cause of my toxic liver or a leaky gut, I wanted to do something about it.  If many of my symptoms could be alleviated by making small changes, I was ready to try.  It was time to stop suffering and to listen closer to your body!

What to listen for

Here are some things to watch for:

  • Foods – do some foods cause you problems?  I’ll bet you know which foods these are (or a good majority of them) but you’re choosing to ignore how you feel.  Detox for leaky gut by paying attention to those foods and how you feel after eating them.
  • Body care products – by now, you’ve probably heard of hormone disruptors in skin care products.  Start reading those ingredient labels and stop using products that cause hormonal problems.

Your body could be toxic and you don’t even know it.  Start listening closer to your body and you’ll start to feel better – albeit gradually, but you will.

*Did you know that eating ginger can help with menstrual cramps?  According to this article by Healthline.com, it can significantly reduce the pain.
