  • Greasy foods like fried chicken or take out burgers or wings
  • Processed foods
  • Dairy such as milk or ice cream
  • Salty snacks

The truth is that acne isn’t necessarily caused by the food itself.  However, the foods you eat can contribute to acne.  This is where a low carb skin improvement can help but how?  Let me explain.

Our acne breakouts could be the result of increased inflammation in the body.  If you have a particular food allergy, this can cause inflammation.  A good example of this is the dairy connection / acne debate.  Some people are somewhat allergic to dairy – most people know this as inflammatory bowel syndrome or IBS.  You eat anything dairy and your stomach hurts.  In IBS is ‘inflammatory’ and any inflammation in the body can result in certain symptoms, including acne.

Likewise, greasy foods, processed foods, and salty snacks would have an adverse reaction to our skin.  Thus, the low carb skin improvement…

If you start eating a more healthful diet which includes low carbs such as items with less sugar, your skin may improve.  So instead of a sweet or salty snack, you chose to eat nuts for a snack, you are eating healthier.  An added bonus is that your blood sugar stays in check and you feel better as well.  Think avocado instead of apple.
