It’s National Strawberry Day and who doesn’t love strawberries? It’s an all-time favorite fruit packed with vitamins and minerals!
Strawberries, Strawberries!
Who doesn’t love strawberries? That luscious, sweet fruit that we all grew up eating is packed with so much Vitamin C and you know how much I love vitamin C because it’s so good for our skin. If you have large pores, you want vitamin C because that vitamin helps with building collagen.
The older we get, the less collagen we produce and that causes less elasticity in our skin. Unfortunately, that makes us look older than we actually are. So, for this reason, eating strawberries, especially on National Strawberry Day, can help you maintain your youthful appearance. Uncover your beautiful skin by eating strawberries!

Incidentally, you can even get dark, large pores on your legs. It’s a little different than the pores on your face. The dark pores on your legs are called ‘strawberry skin‘. You can read more about that here.

Other reasons to eat strawberries
Aside from all the vitamin C, strawberries also have the following:
- Potassium – you can also find this in leafy greens – maybe try a salad with sliced strawberries and some poppyseed dressing.
- Magnesium – also found in almonds.
- Iron – many women suffer from low iron, especially during their menstrual cycles. Why not eat a handful of strawberries to help with iron levels?
Ways to eat strawberries
Here are some of my favorite ways to eat strawberries:
- Fresh – I love fresh strawberries – picked from the yard (if you’re growing them in your summer garden) or fresh from the farmer’s market. Fresh strawberries are so delicious.
- With chocolate – fruit and chocolate is a downfall of mine. I love the combo and chocolate covered strawberries are my favorite. I don’t even need chocolate to be melted on the strawberries – sometimes I just eat them together.

- Strawberry jam – have it on your toast in the morning. So yummy, especially if it’s homemade!
- With ice cream or even in a smoothie.
- As a topping on cheesecake – Yum…

So, with all those reasons to eat strawberries and so many different ways to eat them, why not grab some today to celebrate National Strawberry Day – in whatever way you see fit. Your skin will thank you because of all the vitamin C!
