Best Whiskey Ginger recipe
I’ve been talking about the benefits of ginger and probiotics lately so I decided to make my own probiotic ginger beer recently. It’s the best whiskey ginger recipe.
Benefits of Ginger root
Here are the 3 biggest reasons to eat ginger:
- Did you know ginger root has vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin C, magnesium and potassium? Yep, sure does!
- Plus, it’s a powerful pain reliever and can even help with menstrual cramps. Surprising, isn’t it?
- And, it can help with tummy troubles.

I really love the taste of ginger. The first time I had it, I made some ginger tea because of a stomachache I had. Initially, I didn’t think I liked it – it just seemed too spicey to me. Ginger is quite spicey and I just wasn’t sure of the taste. I think it was mostly because I wasn’t used to drinking herbal teas. I generally drank the regular black tea so trying a ginger tea didn’t really seem ‘right’ to me. Interestingly, though, I noticed that the stomachache was gone and that after the initial shock of the spiciness, I wasn’t that averse to it.
I then started to incorporate ginger into other foods. Here are some other uses of ginger that I didn’t even know were a thing.
- In fact, I didn’t know that ginger is used in a lot of Asian cooking. I found and started to make a ginger beef stir fry that’s so delicious!
- Then, I discovered ginger beer – not to be confused with ginger ale that you buy in a green 2 liter plastic bottle at the grocery store. Ginger beer is good stuff and not alcoholic, although you can find some that are alcoholic.
- Crystallized ginger – for a nice treat!
- Cooking with it – Aside from the stir fry I mentioned above, I even made a peach bourbon jam that included ginger in the recipe. It’s the hit of my family – every summer, I get asked when the next batch of peach (ginger) jam will be ready! Yum, ginger!!
- Making your own ginger beer and then a probiotic ginger beer.
Benefits of Probiotics
Probiotics are those little guys that help our digestive tract stay healthy. They help with inflammation in our guts so whether you have inflammatory acne or you have other inflammation systems (i.e. migraines), eating your dose of probiotics would be really helpful. So, this is why I put ginger and probiotics together to make a probiotic whiskey ginger – in fact, the best whiskey ginger recipe of all time!
Putting it all together – the Best Whiskey Ginger recipe
So, here it is: the best whiskey ginger recipe:

Note: I am all about eating healthy and doing everything in moderation. Making changes in your life to be more healthful doesn’t mean that you can overdo something just because it might be healthy in some way. For example, just because the ginger beer in this whisky ginger is probiotic, it doesn’t mean you should drink it all the time even though it is the best whiskey ginger recipe out there. This is a celebration treat so enjoy and don’t feel bad about it.
Message me if you would like me to do a video on how to make the whole thing – from start to finish of putting it all together – from dechlorinating the water to making the whiskey ginger. Depending on how much interest, I may just do a video!
