Trust your gut probiotics

Trust your gut probiotics!  Between the brain and body (i.e. gut) connection, you can trust your gut with probiotics for a healthier life and body.

Probiotics

What are probiotics?  These are microorganisms that are active; therefore, not dead and they can benefit your gut flora.  If your gut flora isn’t balanced, you will have tummy troubles so getting the right balance is imperative.

As you can see, there are many food sources of probiotics.  If you’d like to try to make your own kombucha, you can get my recipe for homemade kombucha here.   You can also make your own probiotic ginger beer.  Neither is particularly hard to make; it just takes some getting used to how to do it.  Generally, it’s an easy process and once you figure it out, you’ll be fine.  It’s a trial and error process that you’ll be well rewarded with.

The brain gut connection

When your gut isn’t feeling well, chances are your brain isn’t either.  You aren’t able to handle stress as well as you should.  The bad part is that when we are stress or overwhelmed, we tend to not eat well.  When our eating habits are suboptimal, we get stressed easier and it turns into a cycle of bad eating, bad ‘feeling’ in both mood and physical symptoms.

But, when your gut health is working well, you feel good.  That is why it’s great to trust your gut with probiotics and why we call it ‘Trust your gut probiotics!’

Inflammation in your body

When we eat processed foods, our bodies have to deal with the inflammation.  This inflammation can come in many forms:

  • A general feeling of being ‘unwell’
  • Food sensitivities
  • IBS
  • Runny nose
  • Bloating

The list can go on and on but then you get leaky gut.  A detox will be necessary if you want to feel better.

This is why probiotics will help your gut.  Consuming any of the food sources of probiotics is a great start but it isn’t enough if you will continue your bad eating habits.  Commit to yourself:

  • That you will start making small, incremental changes in your diet
  • You will include probiotic rich foods (or take probiotic supplements)
  • Cut down on processed foods
  • Exercise
  • Drink plenty of clean water

While it may seem overwhelming to make some of these changes, once you start to see the positive effects they have on both your body and brain (and thus your mental state), you won’t mind choosing the pickle over the cookie.  And, if you have a cookie every now and again, you won’t feel bad about it.  Moderation is the key and listening to how you are feeling will make you feel AMAZING!
