One reason you shouldn’t eat corn on the 4th
There is one reason you shouldn’t eat corn on the 4th of July and it’s an important one!! I know we all love corn, especially corn-on-the-cob.
Who doesn’t love corn?
Corn is so sweet and delicious and it’s a favorite of kids and adults alike – especially at a cookout. With 4th of July finally here, we may be craving that sweet corn right off the grill. Adding some melted butter, a little salt and maybe fresh squeezed lime juice just makes our mouths water thinking about it! Oh, how we all love corn. But, there is one reason you shouldn’t eat corn on the 4th – or at any time.

One reason you shouldn’t eat corn on the 4th
There really is one reason you shouldn’t eat corn on the 4th and it is a good one. Most of the corn grown in the US, approximately 90% actually, is genetically modified or GMO.

The dangers of GMO
GMO’s, unless you’ve been living under a rock, we’ve been hearing a lot about it lately. GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organisms. The problem with GMO’s is that these were developed by the chemical companies. They’re marketed by the chemical companies and we don’t know what impacts they have on humans. The reason is because we don’t know if they are OK or free from any danger to humans. Why? Because it hasn’t been examined or authenticated. Being that these chemical companies manufactured these and market them heavily, are you OK with consuming GMO’s?

The Non GMO Project supports this.
And, when we put foods that are chemically modified into our bodies, we can’t function and we become toxic. Toxic bodies mean health problems, including hormonal issues like fibroids, gut problems, and skin issues like acne, even into our 40’s.
The news isn’t all bad, though!
Corn you can eat on the 4th
The good news is that you can eat organic corn on the 4th or any other day of the year! Organic crops are always non-GMO. In fact, the organic label can’t be on anything that has been genetically modified. Although, I should note that no one can guarantee that any crop hasn’t been contaminated with GMO’s, but it’s your best bet to stay away from genetically modified items. Otherwise, you’ll always have one reason you shouldn’t eat corn on the 4th or any other day of the year! And, if you want beautiful skin and to be healthy, choose the better alternative by eating organic.

Happy 4th everyone!
