Organic whole milk nutrition facts

There may be many reasons not to drink milk but there are some reasons where it can make sense.  I’ll give you the Organic whole milk nutrition facts you never knew.

Reasons people stop drinking milk

There can be many reasons people stop drinking milk and one may be that they just don’t like the taste of milk.  For me, I’ve always loved milk but I didn’t necessarily love how it made me feel.  Below are some other reasons for not consuming this natural beverage:

  • The milk and acne connection – this topic has been actively debated for years.  If you suffer from acne and you think there is a connection with food, you may be right but I think the real problem lies in the quality of the milk.  This is why you need to know the organic whole milk nutrition facts.
  • Digestion issues – this was a problem for me as well.  The only way I could consume dairy products was if I had something else with my glass of milk or yogurt.  If I ate / drank it by itself, I’d have tummy troubles, like bloating.  However, quality of milk is important as you’ll soon see.
  • Sinus congestion – do you seem to get more sinus issues after drinking milk?  What kind of milk are you drinking?

But, did you know…I alluded to this above but do you realize that the quality of the milk is very important…

  • rbGH free – rbGH is a synthetic hormone and is not allowed in organic milk.  This eliminates the possibilities of increased cancer risks that are associated with this unnatural hormone.
  • Pesticide and herbicide free – cows that aren’t pasture raised will be fed with things that are not natural to their diet and these often contain pesticides and herbicides.  This won’t be the case with organic as this is not allowed.  Cows need to eat grass, which is their natural food.
  • Antibiotic free – again, not allowed in organic milk products.
  • Drinking raw milk / dairy – this hasn’t been pasteurized / homogenized which means that it includes lactase – an essential enzyme that helps with lactose.  Lactose is the enzyme a lot of people have a hard time digesting and the reason why people say they are lactose intolerant (and, thus, think they need to stop drinking milk!).  When you drink organic whole milk, you may not have the same problem.
  • Consider switching from conventional cow milk to grass fed cows, goats or even sheep dairy which has the A2 casein.  A1 casein is a protein that causes some inflammation in some people.
