Exercise causing acne is an issue for many
We all know that exercise is good for us and for a lot of people, it’s difficult to get exercise. But, exercise causing acne, really? With all the demands on our time: family, work, etc. it is hard enough to find time for ourselves much less having time to do a consistent exercise program. Be that as it may, exercising your body is important. And, it could help your skin and any acne issues you face. Note that with some workout programs, you may notice an increase in acne breakouts – this is possibly due to the amount of testosterone your body produces from the actual workout. Be mindful and pay close attention.
So, what can you do? Some options are pilates, weight training, cardiovascular workouts and yoga. Find something that helps you give a workout to your body while giving you more energy and helping to relieve stress that you may experience on a daily basis. Find the program that works for you because if not, you won’t stick to it.
As always, it is important to check with your doctor before you begin any type of exercise program. If your doctor determines that it isn’t wise for you to do a full blown 5 day a week program with weights and cardio, he / she may suggest starting a walking program just to get you moving. Or, signing up for a membership at your local health club so that you can use their indoor pool to either do laps, join a water aerobics program or even just walk the pool or track.
It’s all aobut being aware of your body and how it reacts. Just like noticing what you eat to see if you have any “triggers”, it’s important to watch if certain exercise programs cause acne issues and then make changes as necessary.
