Causes

  1. Undoubtedly, the most common (but fixable) cause is stress.  Stress increases our cortisol levels which, in turn, causes issues with our digestive system.
  2. Things also get inflamed when we eat foods that cause these types of reactions.  Common foods that cause issues would be dairy, wheat, bad carbohydrates (such as sugar or processed foods), and soy – just to name a few.
  3. Birth control pills can unknowingly also cause these problems as well.  Have you been taking birth control pills for a while – like years?  You may have unwittingly been contributing to your leaky gut leaky nose problem.
  4. Genetically modified foods – this is why organic is always a better choice.  I realize it’s more expensive to buy organic but if you can be selective on what you buy (and when things are on sale), you’ll be better off.

What to do about Leaky gut leaky nose

  1. Since we know stress is a trigger for this type of response in your body, knowing this can go a long way to helping us do something about it.  When you know that the stressors in your life are not only causing you anxiety, but also physical issues (and in turn, hormonal issues), you know it’s time to make some changes.  I know that making those changes are hard and they do take time.  But knowing and then taking steps to those changes can have a huge impact.
  2. We may also have to change our diets.  If the foods you are eating are causing problems, you’ll need to stop eating those foods.  Or, at least, dramatically decrease your consumption to wean yourself off.  Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.
  3. It may be time to get off the synthetic hormones.  I know this may not be an option for some people but know that synthetic hormones can be causing some of your problems.  For sure, they are convenient and easy but if you know that it is causing you problems like leaky gut leaky nose, you may want to look into alternatives.
  4. GMO foods – get rid of them!  I understand that sometimes our wallets can’t sustain the cost of 100% organic but again, being mindful of what you are buying and making for your family can go a long way to making some lasting changes.  Be choosy about what you are buying.  Look for organic on sale and stay away from the Dirty Dozen.  Go with the Clean Fifteen instead.

Every little bit of change that moves you towards your goal will have an impact.  I promise you.  You just need to keep at it and you may just notice your leaky gut AND your leaky nose go away forever!
