My 2021 Reflection

My goal has always been to help people find affordable solutions to their health, such as skincare but also in mental health – to find alternative ways to make positive changes in their lives.  With My 2021 Reflection, here are the positive changes I have made.

Goodbye 2021

With 2022 fast approaching, it is time to say goodbye to 2021.  It’s been a difficult year for so many reasons.  For one, the pandemic is still threatening.  Yet, some people don’t believe the pandemic exists.  Politics is a subject that has torn friends and even families apart.  When we thought we knew someone but found out their political standing, we may have found disappointment where we never used to.  It’s been a hard year, whether you believe there is a pandemic and whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican.

Second, some people have had to deal with family illnesses – unrelated to the global health issues.  I’ve seen family members with loneliness due to isolation and acceleration of diseases like dementia.  It’s heartbreaking.  Further, it’s hard to have ever imagined that life could be like this.  Still, it’s time to say goodbye to 2021.

I reflect

As I reflect on 2021, I’ve learned so much.  What have I learned?

  1. Depression sucks.  When life seems so uncertain, people get depressed and anxious.  But, you can beat depression and anxiety.  It’s not easy but it can be done.
  2. I’ve learned to do something different.  There are various hobbies for depression, and I’ve focused on hobbies during times when life just seemed too hard.  I’ve gardened and harvested so many delicious things and have turned them into foods I wouldn’t have normally enjoyed like probiotic ginger beer.  I even started sewing and made some cute Halloween trick or treat bags.  And, while they may not have been perfect, I got a chance to practice my sewing and embroidery.  I even made some bed pads for an elderly family member after a terrible fall.  It gave me a chance to focus on something else rather than the tragedies that seemed to be all around.
  3. I started to play an instrument.  I’m not good at it but I wanted to help my brain by learning something new and hard.
  4. Journaling has helped me organize my thoughts and to deal with the anxiety I felt.  When I put my thoughts on paper, it helps me to process them and that has had a profound impact on how I feel about life.
  5. The foods we eat can affect our skin and our mental health.  Our hormones can be disrupted if we come into contact with certain toxins causing heavy periods, fibroids and moodiness (among other things).  Eating better and understanding of the quality of the products we buy can go a long way to helping our health.
  6. We can all do something to help someone else.

Prosperity in 2022

With that, I wish everyone a Happy New Year’s Eve.  My wish to you is to prosper in 2022.  Be the best you can be and make the world a better place.  I hope my 2021 Reflection has helped you.  Here’s looking to a better 2022.
