Benefits of moisturizing skin
You may not think moisturizing is for you but there are benefits of moisturizing skin and I’ll explain why even oily skin can use moisturizer.
Benefits of moisturizing skin
Maybe you think that moisturizing isn’t necessary if you have oily skin. Like me, my skin is oily but I do moisturize because believe it or not, there are benefits of moisturizing skin. If you don’t moisturize, your skin can look like a desert – dry and cracked – even if your skin is normally oily. Throughout the day, your skin is exposed to the elements, including the wind. In the winter, this is especially true. So, this is when I tend to use more moisturizer.

When should you use moisturizer?
Obviously, if your skin is dry, you should moisturize daily. That’s a no brainer. However, if you have oily skin, you may think that moisturizer isn’t necessary. But, do you notice that your oily skin sometimes feels dry? This could be from any number of reasons such as:
- Products you are using on your skin (like products that are meant to dry you out)
- Winter / dry conditions outside
- Dry heat inside (in the winter)
- When it’s windy out or cold

The importance of moisturizing
When you moisturize your skin, you are keeping skin hydrated. Just like our bodies, we need hydration – so does your skin. If you deprive it of moisture, it will only look dried and cracked – which can make you look older. You don’t want this. It’s all about balance.
If you have oily skin like me, you can use the following:
- Vegetable glycerin
- Carrot seed oil
- Sea buckthorn oil
- Broccoli seed oil
These are just a few suggestions but they are great to use in combination to keep your skin hydrated, especially at those times when it may be dry. Try it, you’ll love how your skin looks and feels.
