  • Dairy

    • This one breaks my heart.  I love dairy – whether it be milk, ice cream, yogurt and even cottage cheese – I love it.  For me, I have noticed that if I have too much dairy, I have problems so I do limit it, especially the ice cream – which I could eat every day!

  • Soy

    • This one is not a problem for me.  At one time in my life, I thought soy was a good thing to eat.  I started to incorporate it in my diet but after reading about how bad this can be, especially for women, I cut it out of my diet completely.  I even read food labels and if I see soy as one of the ingredients, I don’t buy it.  Soy is so bad for you!!!!

  • Alcohol

    • Look, I get it – giving up a glass of wine each day may not be on the top of your list.  How else are you going to quiet your mind and unwind?  I’ve been there.  I was in a position at one time in my life that spanned a good 5+ years where I hated my job and didn’t agree with my boss.  Maybe you have the same situation or you are dealing with your teenage kids.  Life is hard.  It took me some time but I did decide that I couldn’t have alcohol everyday.  I was only having 1 beverage a day but still.  I decided that I shouldn’t have an alcoholic beverage every day.  So, I did decrease it to no more than 3 drinks per week.

  • Corn

    • Since close to 100% of corn is genetically modified, consuming corn and corn products is not good for the body because of the inflammation it causes.  If you’re not going to eat organic corn, you must eliminate this from your diet.

  • Sugar

    • Another hard one for me but I cut down on the amount and type of sugar I use.  For my coffee, I cut down from a whopping 4 teaspoons of sugar to less than 1 tsp of coconut sugar.  I also limit the amount of sweets I have otherwise (i.e. ice cream, cookies, candies, etc.)

  • Caffeine

    • I noticed that when I had more than 1 cup of coffee a day, I didn’t feel good.  I mean, I do like my coffee in the morning so having an extra seemed lovely to me.  Since I never felt good, I cut out that 2nd cup.  I’m in the process now of shifting my caffeine and alcohol intake to kombucha instead.  There’s so many benefits to kombucha because of the probiotics it contains.
