Day 7 of the 30 Day Challenge for Self Confidence
Today, I want you to be aware of your surroundings. Just like the other day when we were being aware and mindful, I want you to build on that. Here are the steps:
- Notice your surroundings
- Pick one object – this can be any object. It can be the TV, the couch, the rug, or your guitar in the corner.
- Then, once you’ve settled on an object, notice the color.
- Don’t judge it, just notice it.
- Focus on the color
For example, if you notice your guitar, what color is is? Is it brown or is it blue? Now, just focus on the color. This exercise should help you calm down a bit and start getting better at being mindful. The good part about this is that this can be done anywhere. If ever you are feeling anxious or depressed, look around the room (or the grocery store or the bank) and choose something to focus on. Notice the color and focus on that; it will take your mind away from the thing that is making you feel anxious or depressed.
