Poisonous cleaning products
Poisonous cleaning products are lurking everywhere! These hormone disruptors are causing unusually heavy periods and fertility issues. Learn what to look for.
Toxic home cleansing products
Did you know that the chemicals in your home cleansing products are toxic? I had a friend tell me once that “Chemicals are OK. I love chemicals.” Unfortunately, this is what they believed (at the time…I’ve subsequently helped them change their tune!) There are so many toxic chemicals in these cleaning products and they are doing more harm than good.

List of common toxins
- Polyethylene glycol
- Propylene glycol
- Ethylene glycol
- 2-butoxyethanol
- Triclosan
Problems caused by poisonous cleaning products
- Unusually heavy menstrual cycles
- Fibroids irregular periods
- Period twice in a month
- Infertility or miscarriage

All of the above problems are due to an imbalance of hormones. The reason for this imbalance is that these toxins act like your estrogen, causing your body to go haywire. So, when I started to have heavy periods, fibroids and multiple periods, I started to pay attention.
What to do
You may not realize these toxic chemicals in your household cleaners are there, but they are. Manufacturers aren’t required to necessarily label them as such. Generally, they might say ‘fragrance’ but these ‘fragrances’ are toxic. Even though they may ‘smell good’ or ‘smell clean’, they are still toxic. And, while my friend believed that for years, it took a lot of convincing. But, now that it is better understood, using ‘green’ products is the way to go.

Further, you can make your own cleaning products with soap or vinegar just by mixing it with the right proportions of water. Instead of buying your own window cleaner that may include toxins, make your own and be healthier for doing it!
