What is my skin type
Are you confused about your skin type? Are you often wondering ‘What is my skin type’? It can be confusing to figure out but we can help.
What is my skin type
It’s a question we all have because we all have skin and it can be hard to know what your type actually is. This is especially true because your skin is different everywhere on your body. Generally, we’re talking about the skin type on your face. What makes it even more difficult is that your face can have multiple skin types. In this situation, it’s normally called combination but then what do you do? This is what we’re going to talk about today and we will help you to know your skin type.

How to know your skin type
It may seem like this is an easy answer: to figure out the type of skin you have, but it can be confusing. The best way is to look at your skin right after you get up in the morning. Since we shouldn’t be wearing makeup to bed, our skin has a chance to breathe and really be what it is. Here are a couple of questions to ask yourself:

- Does it look like an oil slick? That’s a tell-tale sign that you have oily skin.
- Is my entire face oily? If yes, definitely oily skin. If not…
- Is my skin combination or oily? If your skin is oily in some areas and dry or normal or even sensitive in other areas, this is combination skin.
- Does your face feel dry when you wake up? This is telling you that your skin is dry.
- Is your face red or irritated? If so, this is sensitive skin.
- Do none of these situations apply to you? If so, you have normal skin. (And, congratulations because this case seems to be very rare.)
The good news is that you can do a skin type test!
Skin type test
This is super easy. The skin type test helps when you are constantly asking yourself, ‘Why am I so oily?’ If you’re constantly wondering this, try this test:

First, grab a clean tissue. Then, blot an area of your face – just one area. Check the tissue after each blot to see if there is oil on there. If no oil, your skin is not oily there. But, blot a different area of your face. Check the tissue again and you may notice some oil. This is telling you that you have some oily skin and combination skin. If you find the tissue is oily each time, you definitely have oily skin.
So, now you no longer have to wonder: ‘What is my skin type’ Now you know and can figure out how to care for your skin from there. Now, you can exfoliate based on the type of skin you have.
