High fat dairy
Do you love dairy but don’t love what it does to your skin and digestive system? My question to you is, are you eating High fat dairy or low fat? Which is better?
Full fat vs low fat dairy
For a couple decades now, we’ve seen advertising campaigns touting low fat dairy if you want to lose weight. ‘Eat low fat!’ is the mantra. It makes logical sense, doesn’t it? If we want to lose weight, i.e., fat, eat less fat – right? Or does it?

Low fat dairy bad
The problem with the lower fat version is that it doesn’t include the good fats and proteins – the ones that your body actually needs. Plus, it has a lot of additional sugar. If you suffer from any of the following, it could be your body is having a reaction to the ‘low fat’ milk:
- Acne
- Inflammation / gut problems (probably diagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome or IBS)

Milk could be the cause and this is why you may have heard that you should cut out dairy. But, as you know, I do love milk. If you are having reactions after consuming milk, you may want to switch to a full fat / organic milk.

High fat dairy good
It does seem counter-intuitive, but drinking a high-quality milk could help you with:
- Acne issues
- Gut problems
- Losing weight

Now, I’m not a doctor but I can tell you that once I switched from conventional diary to raw milk products, my acne and gut issues decreased significantly, and I found it easier to maintain my weight. By the way, raw milk products are not homogenized. Homogenization makes fats that we can’t digest and can cause inflammation. Inflammation could lead to acne breakouts. Switching to raw dairy may be something to consider. It may help you heal your leaky gut.
